I worked as a caregiver for twelve years. What I did meant a lot to me: taking care of elderly people. But over time, I felt like I was fading away a little. Everything became repetitive.
I wanted more movement, more encounters, more prospects—but I didn’t think it was for me.

The aptitude test was a revelation. The word “curiosity” appeared at the top. I had never associated it with a profession. And yet, it had always been there: this need to learn, to understand others, to open myself up to new worlds.

The test allowed me to put words to what deeply motivated me—curiosity, empathy, networking—and to understand that these aptitudes could find their place in another job, one that was more open and more stimulating.

Today, I am a sales assistant. This morning, a customer told me about a new material he uses in his packaging. I didn’t know anything about it, so I dug deeper: I went to see our quality department, asked questions, and discovered a whole new side of our business that I didn’t know about. These kinds of moments, where I discover, connect, and learn, are exactly what excite me today.

My interests haven’t changed me. They’ve allowed me to choose a career where what I love to do finally has a place.

And it’s that choice that makes all the difference.

“I had been a baker for over twenty-five years. I enjoyed the job, but I was tired. Physically, I was reaching my limit. And I couldn’t see how to change careers.

At 52, you tell yourself it’s too late, that you don’t really have a choice anymore.

The aptitude test completely changed that. It revealed three things that I didn’t value at all: my ability to solve problems, to find solutions with the means at my disposal, and to constantly adapt.

I remembered all the times I tinkered with an oven heating element or changed the layout of the bakery to save time—without ever seeing it as a skill.

That’s what made me believe that a career change was realistic. I started a nine-month training program to become a maintenance technician, and today I work on electrical equipment in a community setting. I identify breakdowns, repair them, and prevent them.

The test helped me make a real choice based on desire rather than necessity.
